VTPA Protest Rules
1. All protests must be made in writing and submitted and
signed within five (5) minutes of completion of the class being
protested. The protest form must be handed to the Head Tech
Official or any VTPA Officer/Director in attendance. The
protest must clearly define three items: Who is protested, what
they are protested for (limited to one item per protest), and
who is making the protest. The person making the protest
MUST be an owner/operator/driver within the class being
protested.
2. All protest fees will be in cash.
A) If protested vehicle is found legal, then fee will be forfeited
to person found legal.
B) If vehicle is illegal, then vehicle is disqualified with a loss of
purse & points and fee is returned to protester.
3. Fees for protest are as follows:
A) $250 for any Garden Division class
B) $500 for any Antique Tractor Division class
C) $1,000 for any Farm/Hot Farm/Altered Tractor
Division class, any Truck Division class, or any V8
Mini Division class
4. Any protest at VTPA events involving a tear down WILL
OCCUR:
A) if a Garden Division protest, at the end of the event.
B) if any of the other divisions, at a designated location
within 24 hours of the protest.
If vehicle is NOT teched at the event for Garden Division or
within 24 hours of the protest at the designated location for all
other divisions, THEN the protest vehicle will be defined as
illegal and suspension will follow.
5. The owner/operator of the protested vehicle will be the
one to perform the tear down. Head Tech Official or
VTPA Officer/Director will watch the tear down and
perform appropriate readings to verify protested rule item.
6. Any competitor competing with a performance enhancing
equipment verified by a Head Tech Official OR refuses to tear
down at the event for Garden Division or at designated
location for all other divisions will be:
A) Disqualified for a period of 375 days and including
actions discovered by protests, at all VTPA events.
B) Disqualified from the points race.
C) Loss of any purse payout for the event in which the
protest occurred.
D) Suspensions will include driver and vehicle.
E) Following suspension, all illegal items of the protest
must be verified by Head Tech Official to be legal and
conforming to VTPA rules.
7. The VTPA officials and the operator being protested are the
only people allowed near the vehicle during protest. Anyone
causing disruption during a protest will be disqualified for that
event (VTPA Points Program Rule 24).
8. The Vermont Tractor Pullers Association reserves the right
to suspend a competitor for any rules violation and competitor
will receive written notice in five (5) working days.
9. The VTPA Judges’ decisions during the event are final.
